Artist Statement

Relationships exist between all things, and humans find solace in defining and creating them. We form these relationships and often grow from them, as there is a necessity for growth. In my works, I explore the vulnerability and comfort that lie at the epicenter of the human experience.

It is interesting to see the ties that humans hold to certain things, and how their physical environment affects their mental state. Humans are emotional beings and we are constantly learning from our surroundings, while simultaneously changing it. This curiosity and desire to grow fuels our evolution, be it societal or personal, and I evolve this narrative through energetic brushwork and texture within my paintings. There is an air of discomfort and tenderness throughout my body of work, both quiet and loud, which coexist in the same world.
