Donna Burawa is a fine artist based on Long Island.

She obtained a BFA in Fine Arts at the Fashion Institute of Technology and is currently working towards her MA in Visual Arts Education. In most of her recent works, Burawa has been concerned with the idea of self-journey, emerging, and evolution. She achieves this through direct, emotionally charged marks as she experiments with a variety of mediums.

Through this exploration, Burawa plays with the juxtaposition of vulnerability and comfortability within the space of her paintings. She has been expanding upon this narrative of change and growth as she navigates her way through life- both as a woman and an artist. Formally, she relies on shape and color to develop meaning and metaphor within her work. The use of non-local color helps displace these painted scenes from reality and creates a visceral space.

Burawa’s work has been shown throughout New York and her paintings have been featured in Teen Vogue.
